Born in 1962 in Adachi-ward, Tokyo. After graduating from Kasukabe high school in Saitama, studied at Department of Composition, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. After graduating from the university, made a tour of European countries, the Middle East and Southeast Asia for 6 months to study religious music. A piece "Sinfonia -for orchestra-" composed during his stay in Jerusalem was selected for “the 19th Concert of Contemporary Japanese Orchestra”. After being performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time, the piece received 1st prize in the composition category at the 17th Japan Symphony Foundation Award. The piece was also nominated for the Akutagawa Award For Music Composition hosted by Suntory Foundation for Arts and performed at various places around the world including Suntory Hall in Tokyo.
